All my sons are home now!

It is so good having all my sons home. It has been a rough 6 months having Greg gone but I will treasure the time he will be home. I wont lie it will be tough to see him leave again. For the time we are enjoying all of us being home. I love the holidays so much more now. We are all ready for Christmas and then seeing the rest of the family this weekend. May all of you have a wonderful Holiday Season

Waiting his arrival

So today we have spent the day getting his room all taken care of for his visit. It has been almost 6 months since he has been gone. So many people are anxious to see him again. I have seen him twice now since he left and believe me when I say he is a changed Man now. Yes I say Man because he is no longer the person he was when he left the end of June. The military has a way of making these kids grow up so fast. I am so proud of my son and cannot wait until I have all my sons home again.

ICaughtSanta

Can you believe the nerve on some kids and adults who actually doubt the existence of Santa Claus? Crazy, I know! Well, I have got a way for you to give them some proof that, yes Arizona, there really is a Santa Claus.

iCaughtSanta.com (part of CatchACharacter.com) is a way for you to take a picture of your own home (or wherever) and carefully add a photograph of Santa into your own home. Now I know you Photoshop geniuses can do this on your own, but lots of folks don't know how to do that on their own and iCaughtSanta.com makes it super easy. You just upload your photo of your home, then pick the Santa Claus you want (lots of different posts to pick from), you can adjust his size, his brightness, and his color, get him to look just right. Even add a border if you like. Then you can print out your custom photo or save the image on your computer. Once you make the photo you can print it in 4x6, 5x7, or 8x10 at home, plus save it in different sizes, or you can even send it to have it printed at your local Walgreens! It took me all of about 10 minutes for the entire process. A tip is to have someone stand in the pose you like in your home to get an idea on the perspective for inserting Santa.

If you have a doubting child in your family, wouldn't it be fun to have them help you set up the camera and tripod on Christmas Eve when you put out the milk and cookies? Just tell them you have a setting on the camera for motion detection and it will automatically snap a picture when it senses Santa in the room. Ahead of time you can have already bought and printed out your iCaughtSanta.com photo and then leave that photo out for Christmas morning to show your child that Santa Claus was really here!

Another Day on the Rollercoaster Ride

So Greg was supposed to be moving into his permanent barracks today but was again told that there is no room. I think that since he reported a month early that it may be after the 1st of the year before he gets to move out of the temporary barracks, which are just a little larger than a closet. He really loves where he is so that is a good thing. Still saying my prayers that his Unit does not get called up for deployment next Spring/Summer.

Life as an Army Mom

As my son gets all settled at his new duty station the worry sets in for this mom. He was told that they are due to deploy next Spring/Summer. How does one truly prepare for their child to be in a warzone? I have kept myself busy with my others sons and my granddaughter who are all living with me. Total chaos in my house at all times but I love hearing their laughter so I wouldnt change that for the world.
