Safety Cutter

I just reviewed the Slice™ Safety Cutter and found it’s also great for opening CD/DVD wrappings, scrap booking and pretty much anything you need a quick easy straight cut on.

The Slice Safety Cutter is great for clipping coupons, recipes, opening DVDs and CDs (y’all know what a pain that can be!)
It has a finger friendly ceramic blade so it’s a safe substitute for scissors and won’t cut you.
It also has a built in magnet and key ring hole making it convenient to take with you.
It can be for righties or lefties (you know how hard it is for left handed people sometimes to use regular scissors).
The ceramic blade won’t rust, stays sharp and lasts longer than steel blades.

My Caring Cross Review & Giveaway

I would like to introduce you to My Caring Cross. Caring CrossesTM are individually carved from a single unique piece of beautifully grained olive wood pruned from the olive trees around Bethlehem the birthplace of Jesus. Christians have been carving crosses like this for hundreds of years, originally for pilgrims and more recently tourists visiting the Holy Land. Each craftsman receives a fair price to support their family and Christian community. My Caring Crosses are designed to fit comfortably into the palm of your hand as an aid to prayer or meditation. Ideal as your spiritual companion for easing children's fears, comforting worries and stresses of adults and focusing the prayer of the sick and elderly.

When I am afraid.
I will trust in you.

Psalm 56:3

I was very excited when I received the package. I took the cross out and just held it in the palm of my hands, for a few minutes. I love the way it feels in my hand. My Caring Crosses are nice and smooth and truly feel comfortable in the palm of my hand.  I have a son who is currently deployed and I focus my prayers on my son. I took My Caring Cross into my hand and just prayed. To some, this may be just a piece of wood in the shape of a cross. To us Christians, it has a whole different meaning. The cross came in a burgundy velveteen bag along with an authenticity card. Also included, was a cream colored velveteen bag and a personalized card, which can be used when given as wedding favors.

My Caring Crosses would made great Christmas gifts or stocking stuffers. They also make for a great fundraiser at your local place of worship, or to distribute to hospice patients at your local hospital and nursing care facility.

This is a great aid to prayer or meditation.

"The wood is from the tree of life, those who embrace her; those who lay hold of her will be blessed."
Proverbs 3:18

Right now MyCaringCross.com has two specials going on till Christmas. Eight Caring Crosses delivered Priority Mail within the US for just $36 or $4.50 per cross or two Caring Crosses delivered within the US for $12.

My Caring Cross would love to give one of my readers the chance to win a Caring Cross of their very own. This contest is open to the US and will end on December 01, 2011. Many thanks to My Caring Cross and good luck to all!

Our New Home

So we are almost all settled in to our new home. It took a few years but I knew with a lot of prayers and faith I could have this again. It is so nice not living in Flagstaff anymore, away from the college kids and all their parties. We live on several acres giving our dogs lots of land to run around on. We are getting our horses soon too and that by far will be the best.

The other amazing thing to living in the country are the amazing sunsets and sunrises. Not alot of noise out here is the best.

Life could not get any better.

Supporting Our Troops

So my project for this weekend was to make several Cakes in a Jar and decorate them for our Troops. This was not just a project in my household but several other households, a group project. Since hearing of the recent news we decided to join together and send our guys something from home. Not too many are supporting our troops and it saddens us. So many forget what is truly going on, spending time just thinking of themselves and not so much on how so many men and women have given up spending their days with their families to protect OUR COUNTRY! Please take a moment to Thank those who have been injured, or KIA and Most of all Please Pray for those that are still over there that they may all come home safe and sound.

My next Blog will show you how to make them yourself to send to your family member who may be serving our country.

God Bless each and every one of them!

Our Soldiers

As each of you go on about your day please dont forget about our soldiers who are currently deployed still fighting for us, those who are getting injured. I belong to an amazing Army Mom's Support Group and one of our fellow moms received that unwanted phone call - her son has been seriously injured. Please take a moment to read her story and to pray for her son Derek who is fighting for his life. This brings tears to my eyes each time I read her updates. As a Mom with my own son over there it scares me all the time. When my phone rings I am scared to answer it, when an unknown car pulls in front of my house my heart skips a beat. Living in fear is not how one wants to live their days. I cannot wait for my own son to be back on US Soil and safe. Please pray for each and every one of them

My youngest turns 16

So seriously where did the time go? My youngest just turned 16 today. It is so unreal that my baby is at driving age already ha! He is going into his Sophomore year in High School, and is already close to 6' tall too. So he is not my baby anymore ha!
He gots lots of stuff from the family today. Even though Greg is so far away in the Stan he told me what he wanted to get him and I went and picked it up. Needless to say Trevor had an AMAZING 16th Birthday. He wanted to have dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings so that is where we went. He got a Hard Drive for his new XBOX 360, XBOX Live with a nice headset, several games and of course the all time favorite - MONEY lol. All in all it was a great day for my youngest son. I am so proud of all my sons, that have all grown to be such amazing Men.

A Military Mom

I wear no uniform -- no blues or greens -- but I am in the military, in the ranks rarely seen.
I have no rank upon my shoulder.
Salutes I do not give, but in the military world is where I live.
I am not in the chain of command; orders I do not get.
But my son is the one who does, this I can not forget.
I am not the one who fires a weapon, who puts his life on the line,
but my job is just as tough, I'm the one left behind.
My son is a patriot, a brave pride-filled man.
And the call to serve his country not all can understand.
Behind the lines, I see things needed to keep this country free.
My son makes the sacrifice, but so does the rest of his family and me.
I love the man I call my son. Soldiering is his life.
But I stand among the silent ranks know as ........ The Military Mom

Things You Should Not Say to the Family Member of the Deployed....and some that you should.

Some of these are my own, some are taken from others, but here are the top things that you should not say to the family member of a deployed person.

Aren’t you afraid he may die or be injured?
This one has always really perplexed me. Of course, I’m scared. I wouldn’t be human if I wasn’t. But being reminded of the fact that something may happen to him doesn’t help me out. What kind of idiot would even ask a question like this? People die over there, often..and people are trying to kill our loved ones......of course we are scared you idiot!

I don’t know how you do it. I don’t think I could.
We don't know how we do it either, if we did know we would write a damn book about it, and we would be rich, because everyone with a loved one in harm's way would love to know exactly how to do it.....You just do it, because you have to.

I could never deal with it if my ______ was gone for that long.
Hmmm…how does hearing how someone else can’t deal with it help us to deal with it? And you do deal with it when it happens to you, what are the alternatives pray tell? Should I decide I cannot deal with it is there some magic words I can say to make it all go away or do I have to just shoot myself?

Do you miss him?
No we do not miss our sons, our daughters, our husbands, we do merry little dances all day long rejoicing, Yeh.....OF COURSE WE MISS THEM!

I know just how you feel. My husband was on a business trip last month for three days and I just thought I would die.

Were there IED's in the hallways, were they lobbing mortars at him in his bed? Did you have the opportunity to talk with him each and every night...Yeh sure your hubbies business trip is nothing like a deployment.

How can you sleep at night knowing your _____ has killed people ? Won’t you be afraid when he comes home?
This one sets me off more than any other. They are not murderes, they are warriors. Have they had to kill someone? Quite possibly. But there are a great many soldiers who never have. It’s not something they talk about in daily conversation. Regardless of what they do overseas, it does not make them a murderer. They are in a war zone and following orders. Fear them? NO if anything we sleep better knowing they are here.

I was so lost when my child went off to college; I know just how you feel.
Really? Are people trying to kill your child in college? I would have thought your biggest worry would be whether they are studying or partying. I was not aware that college was as violent and hostile as Afghanistan.

If you truly supported your loved one, you would be protesting so..he wouldn’t have to deploy again/could be brought home/the war would end.
Really? My definition of support must be much different than the definition of support by these people. Supporting my loved one means supporting him in what he does and what he believes in. It does not mean disrespecting the men and women who volunteered to defend our country and our rights. If it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t have the right to protest in the first place. I’m certainly not putting myself in a position where it could be construed as anything other than 100% support for our troops and their families.

Well at least he won't have to go to Iraq anymore, we are all done fighting over there.
Can you tell that to the families of the 14 men killed in Iraq last month? I wonder if all those Infantrymen over in Iraq know that they are not combat troops....ever try telling an Infantryman that I guess he must be a POGUE now?

Were you excited at the Presidents recent speech about Afghanistan? Now your son will not have to go! Isn't that wonderful.
Yeh it is awesome, can someone tell the Pentagon now, as they seem to still be intent on sending him, and yeh I am thrilled, thrilled that these brave young Infantry troops will now fight in Afghanistan with less support now. I am sure the moms and wives of the ones there now, and the ones slated to go are just thrilled also. Grrrrrr

Well it is almost Christmas, they let them come home for Christmas don't they?
Yes the entire armed forces shuts down for Christmas..sheesh do you people know nothing?

How much longer does he have until he can get out?
This one is annoying to many of us whether deployed or not. Many of our loved ones aren't counting down the days until they "can" get out. Many of them keep signing back up again and again because (gasp!) they love what they do.

This deployment shouldn't be so bad, now that you're used to it.
Sure, we do learn coping skills. And we figure out ways to make life go smoother while the guys are gone. But it never gets easy and the bullets and bombs don't skip over our guys just because they've been there before. The worry never goes away.

If you truly want to help, some suggestions are

I know it is hard, but we are here for you, and we are praying for your loved one.
When we voice our fears, or when we are really missing them, we just want someone to listen, we do not expect you to make it better, nothing can make it better, it is what it is, so just listen, and understand, and come along side in prayer and support.

Please thank your loved one for me, I am so grateful for men (women) like them, who are willing to go in harms way on my behalf.
Let us know that you appreciate what our loved ones are doing, you do not have to support the wars in order to appreciate the men and women who volunteer to defend this nation.

You guys are on my daily prayer list, and in my thoughts.
It helps a lot to know people have not forgotten our loved ones. Most times it feels like they are forgotten as the majority of our support comes form the families of the deployed and veterans.

If I can help, please let me know.
Chances are we will never ask, but knowing you are willing to be there if we need you helps a lot.

Is there anything I can do to help make it easier?
Same as above.

Does he/she need anything? I would love to send them a package to say thank you.
Out of all the family and friends and people who said they supported my son on his deployment, only two sent him packages. The church and one of his many aunts.

He is all grown up now and you have to learn to let go.

Like that helps us cope.....yes he is grown up and we have let go, we watched him board a plane, bound for war, to a place where people want to kill him, for a cause he believes in........Can you let go of yours like we let go of ours?

Prayers for Derek McConnell

Please pray for our fellow soldier who was injured yesterday

Prayers for Derek and his family

A Mother and her Soldier

If every single soldier

took his Mother off to war,

it would be the quickest battle

that was ever fought before…

the kindest sweetest Mother

would turn into something wild

should any sort of danger

pose a threat to her dear child.

There’s something in a Mother

that clicks in when baby’s born -

that tells her to protect him

and keep him safe from harm…

the female of the species

is the fiercest, so they say -

So take the Mothers with you -

you’ll be home within the day…

Preparing for our European Cruise

So now that things are going very well for my family we are planning our 14 day European Cruise. This is going to be a blast for all of us. We cant wait to see Italy, France, Monaco and so many other places. After this trip is our family trip to Ireland. Being able to travel again is such a great feeling.  It has taken some time but by February 2012 I will be 100% debt free. I do not rely on credit cards to get those things I need, nope...if I want something I save and pay for it out right. Such a great feeling to OWN everything and not still owe the bank. Making my way up the Corporate ladder is such an amazing feeling.

We will be paying for this cruise with CASH, not putting it on a credit card and dreading when the bill comes in. Each year I take my sons on a 10 day vacation and it feels great to be able to do that for my family. This years vacation was to Colorado to see my Second to the oldest deploy to Afghanistan, not the vacation we really wanted but my sons know that I will be there for them ALWAYS. My sons mean everything to me.

My older 3 have all graduated from High School and on the own now so only having 1 son at home allows us the freedom to do more. I sometimes had a hard time knowing that in just 3 years my youngest will be graduating High School as well and I wont have any kids at home anymore - YEAH!!! Dont get me wrong I love my sons but it is time for me to enjoy life and not continually raise children. I am almost 43 and so thankful that I will be done raising kids before I am 46. Who wants to be so old when their kids are done with school that they themselves cant enjoy retirement. Thankful I had my kids when I was younger. I have 1 granddaughter that is such a joy to have around from time to time. My oldest son has full custody of his daughter and I am so proud of him for stepping up and being such an amazing Father to her.

T-shirt Printing.net's Cheeky Monkey Review

I love wearing t-shirts, so much so, that I prefer to sleep in them. 100% cotton t-shirts are so breathable, so moveable that I don’t feel like I’m getting ‘strangled’ while wearing them to bed. What I like even better are t-shirts with cool logos or slogans on it. Check this one out:

This is known as the Cheeky Monkey, printed by T-Shirt Printing.net. Isn’t it cute? I like the pink and yellow monkey! I also like that it’s a 100% pre-shrunk cotton t-shirt, which means I can wear it to hang out, do laundry, sleep-in and other stuff, as well…I LIVE in t-shirts! This monkey didn’t come off after washing and drying several times already…SCORE! The point of this cheeky monkey t-shirt is to show that quirky, fun t-shirts can be just a hop-skip-and-a-jump away when you work with TShirtPrinting.net! You can order from 12 to 100,000 custom designed t-shirts, with quality products and quality customer service!

When your son deploys

How does one really cope when their son is about to deploy? Especially with the recent events. Not a moment goes by that I dont say my prayers that Our Heavenly Father will watch over him and his entire unit, that they all come home safe.
I have been so blessed in my life to have such an amazing family and wonderful sons.
My 3rd son is about to Graduate High School and that leaves only 1 child at home. My youngest will be 16 this summer - where did the time go. I think of all I am going to be able to do once all of my sons are out on their own - TRAVEL!!!
I have a wonderful job that has given me so much growth in life. I have everything that I have ever wanted and more. God truly has blessed me.
Please take a moment and say a prayer for our Soldiers that are protecting our country that they all come home to their families safe and sound.

Bryton Floss Pick Review

BrytonPick makes cleaning between teeth easy, fast and discreet

Designed, developed and tested by dental professionals.

Solution for on-the-go or alternative for those that are unable to floss

Made of flexible stainless steel and plastic holder

Blunt cleaning edges are thin as the finest floss (0.0019")

Re-usable up to 30 days (germ-resistand stainless steel).

Cleanse with napking or water. Store in its cary-pouch.

Q: WHAT IS BRYTONPick?

A: BrytonPick is a string-free, portable and reusable dental space cleaner. The flexible edges are as thin as dental floss. Designed for use after every meal, BrytonPick brings relief to an everyday problem by easily removing food stuck between the teeth. Also, it replaces all improvised and un-hygienic "items" used in an attempt to remove pieces of food from between teeth, such as: paper clips, business cards, matches, or finger nails.

Q: WHY THE NAME BrytonPick?

A: The name BRYTON represents smart interdental cleaner to “brighten” peoples smile.

Q: WHY SHOULD I BRYTON?

A: It is impossible to treat and prevent periodontal disease without perfect oral hygiene habits, which include cleaning interdental spaces after even the smallest meal.

Q: HOW DO I USE BRYTONPick?

A: 1.Keep the mouth open in a smiling position. 2. Gently insert either-end between teeth. 3. SLIDE between teeth INSIDE - OUT. Check How to use it.

Q: IS BRYTONPick SAFE – WILL IT CUT MY GUMS?

A: BrytonPick is both safe and hygienic.

Though BrytonPick is very easy to use, it normally takes several tries to learn the best angle for proper use of the product. During the learning process it is possible to "paper" cut your lip. After practice you will be able to “Bryton” in matter of seconds and you will be less likely to cut yourself than with traditional dental floss or toothpicks.

Q: TELL ME ABOUT BRYTONPick’s EDGES. ARE THEY REUSABLE?

A: Yes. The flexible stainless steel edges are inherently germ-resistant. BrytonPick can be cleaned with a tissue, napkin or hot water. After each use BrytonPick should be returned to its carrying case for continued use.

The product is reusable for up to one month (30 days). Length of use usually varies from person to person and is dependent upon the shape and size of spaces between teeth. Generally, we recommend that the instrument be replaced on a monthly basis in order to ensure safety and cleanliness.

Q: WHERE CAN I USE BRYTONPick?

A: BrytonPick is designed for use after every meal discreetly - anytime and anywhere. BrytonPick’s one-handed use requires no mirror or water. Whether you’re in a restaurant, at the office, at school, or traveling.

Q: WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF BRYTONPick?

A: For Teens and Young Adults, BrytonPick is a chic product that makes necessary oral hygiene quick, effective and socially acceptable.

People with braces will find BrytonPick incredibly easy to use. The device can slide from behind braces, making it the perfect oral hygiene solution. It is also great for wearers of Invisalign, since it’s portable design allows the user to clean interdental spaces after every meal.

Adults who are always on the go will find an easy, discreet way to maintain proper oral hygiene.

Seniors who have arthritis or suffer from limited mobility will find comfort in the simplicity and easy one-handed use of BrytonPick

I have been using the BrytonPick for a couple weeks now, and I love it.

It is very easy to use, and fits nicely in my purse.

I hate when I go out to dinner, and eat something that gets stuck in my teeth (steak is one thing!!)

When I am done eating, I can run to the ladies room, and take care of any unsightly ick in between my teeth.

The BrytonPick comes with a cute little pouch to protect it from germs.

This is a great little tool to carry with you where ever you go.

You can get the BrytonPick on their site, or at many different pharmacy's like Walgreens and CVS.

TheraBreath Review

Got Bad Breath? Even though, You have been brushing your teeth and using mouthwash-and you still have bad breath? What's up with that?... Now put an end to it by using TheraBreath Oral Care Products!!!

Brush with TheraBreath toothpaste twice a day by just placing a bead of this toothpaste on your toothbrush and brush thoroughly. Be sure to brush all over - the inside of your cheeks, roof of your mouth, and back of your tongue. TheraBreath Toothpaste is designed to control the anaerobic bacteria that causes bad breath. This formula is also great for gum health and nothing is more powerful at fighting cavities.

This toothpaste is alittle different from others I have used. You don't need to use water with this toothpaste and it doesn't foam like most. It has a slight minty flavor and really works great! I noticed having much fresher breath and whiter teeth since using this toothpaste. Also, alittle bit of this toothpaste goes along way.

Stop your bad breath and end chronic halitosis by using TheraBreath Oral Rinse after brushing with TheraBreath Toothpaste. This amazing rinse uses the odor-obliterating power of OXYD-8 for treating bad breath, stopping halitosis and eliminating sour, bitter and metallic tastes in your mouth.

Use 1-2 capfuls and gargle thoroughly. Try to let the oral rinse reach as far back in your throat as possible without gagging. Gargle for at least 30 seconds, or as long as you can. With a new capful of rinse, swish rinse completely around your entire mouth for at least another 45 seconds.
This Oral rinse is alot milder tasting and does not have that burning feeling like some mouth wash and rinses have. But, This product works Great!!! Since using these products, I have way more confidence and don't worry about having bad breath anymore.

Do you have Dry Mouth? or Just want to re-freshen your breath? Then try these!!
Eat a lozenge whenever your mouth feels dry or you experience an unpleasant flavor. Three or four a day should keep your mouth fresh, moist, and free of bad breath.

TheraBreath Mouth Wetting Lozenges are unlike any breath mint you have ever tried. They work in three distinct stages to make sure your mouth is fresh, moist, and healthy. This three stage approach is not only unique, but incredibly effective at controlling bad breath odor.
Stage 1 uses a pleasant citrus mint formula to quickly eliminate any unpleasant flavors or odors in your mouth.
Stage 2 uses the power of Zinc, Oxygen, and Xylitol - clinical strength active ingredients -to attack the germs that cause bad breath.
Stage 3 introduces their proprietary salivary agent to eliminate dry mouth and stimulate your body to produce saliva, a powerful germ fighting agent.
I love these mints. They have a good taste and really help you get rid of that dry mouth feeling. These mints are individually wrapped for convienance and easily will fit in your pockets or purse.

So... Now I know you want these great products!!!

TheraBreath Toothpaste and Oral Rinse sells for $10.50 each and can be bought online, at Walgreens and Walmart.

TheraBreath Mouth Wetting Lozenges sell for $13.00 for 100 individual wrapped mints.

Disclosure: I received these products free of charge for the purpose of this review. This is my honest thougths and opinion.

MyClyns Review

I recently had the opportunity to try a new product that is out on the market called MyClyns. MyClyns is a brand new alcohol-free, germ protection spray that you can immediately use on the face when exposed to harmful, disease-causing germs. It is a non-toxic, non-burning spray that contains a fast-acting solution that virtually kills more than 60 potentially dangerous pathogens, including MRSA, staph and E-coli. My first thought was, this sounds really weird. Is that what you’re thinking? I was interested and decided to give it a try.

MyClyns is used and trusted by hospitals, EMS, police, firemen, and others whose contact with pathogens is often extreme. It is now being made available to consumers like us to be a perfect compliment to our germ-fighting routine. It comes in a small, non-aerosol pump spray that is shaped like a pen so it is very portable and can be easily stashed away in your purse, diaper bag, gym bag, etc. MyClyns is the only germ defense for use in the eyes, nose and mouth offering protection where you need it most. MyClyns is safe to spray directly onto the face and even into open wounds.

The spray is a fine mist and doesn’t burn or sting. I was a little worried because sometimes hand sanitizers can burn but MyClyns did not burn or sting my face.

I get a little freaked out when someone is coughing up a lung around me so it will be nice to be able use MyClyns to protect my family.

Buy It:
MyClyns will be available in a variety of stores nationwide starting late-October. The newly redesigned Web site for MyClyns will also have a “where to buy” store locator so you will be able to see which retailers near you are selling MyClyns.

*Disclosure:
“I am a Purex Insider. While I do receive complimentary sample products from the Purex brand, my opinions are my own and I help spread the word about the Purex family of laundry products. As an Insider, I receive sample product and incentives in exchange for participating in brand related activities.”*

When my bottle of the New Purex with Zout came in the mail I was thrilled. I love trying out new stuff! So I tried it out on a load of normal wash and a couple items had some stains. I did just what the bottle said and put a small amount of Purex with Zout over the stain, rubbed in and let set for 5 minutes, and then added to my wash. I also used the New Purex Complete with Crystal Softener which you add right to your wash as well. The smell in my laundry room was like heaven. Be sure to check out my review on Purex Complete Crystals Softener here.

Once the wash was done I dried the clothes as I normally would, and when they were done I was kind of surprised my clothes actually came out brighter than they normally do and yes all the stains were gone!!!! I was surprised because I am a Gain user and always thought nothing is better than Gain. Well Purex Complete with Zout is right up there with Tide. Whats even better is my clothes will be whiter and brighter now and I will be spending half the money than what I normally spend on my favorite laundry soap. In my opinion this is well worth buying and trying it for yourself.

About Purex Complete with Zout

Purex Complete with Zout combines the proven performance of Purex detergent with the triple-enzyme stain-fighter power of Zout stain remover. It's a detergent and pre-treater, all in one. It's a powerful combination thats works to get stains out the first time even tough stains like grass, chocolate, and tomato sauce. It's also one of Purex's new dual compatible formulas, which means that you can use it in both traditional top loaders as well as High Efficiency (HE) washing machines.

Purex Complete with Zout contains three powerful stain-fighting enzymes. Each enzyme targets a different type of stain:

Protease: Works against protein stains such as grass and blood.

Amylase: Works against starchy stains such as chocolate and tomato sauce.

Mannanase: Works against guar, which is used as a thickener in many foods, such as ice cream, barbecue sauce, and salad dressing, because it's super sticky. Unfortunately it really stick to fabrics too, making stains very difficult to remove. That's why the Mannanase enzyme is so important in Purex Complete with Zout.

Purex Complete with Zout can be used as both a pre-treater and detergent making it great for everyday laundry and heavily soiled loads.
•For Normal wash loads, use it just as you would a normal detergent.
•For really tough stains, pour a little directly on the stain and rub into fabric. Let sit for 5 minutes before putting it into the water.

Will it work in my washer?
Yes!! Purex Complete with Zout is specially formulated to work in both traditional and High Efficiency (HE) washers.

Available fragrances

Fresh Morning Burst
Gives your laundry a light fresh sent.
Free & Clear
Fragrance free and has hypoallergenic formula for sensitive skin.

Purex Complete with Zout is not only tough on stains, but it also cost far less than the leading brand of liquid detergent. It s priced from $3.49 to $7.99 depending on size and retailer. It is available nationwide in stores such as Walmart and Target.

Living the Life

As the day comes closer to my son leaving for Afghanistan it gets harder on each one of us. When I talk to my son on the phone I can tell how difficult this is on him as well. Not sure how we are going to handle him being right in the middle of this war zone. All I know is I love my son beyond words and want him to stay safe at all times.
He is coming home to visit very soon and I know we are planning this HUGE get together while he is here - enjoying every moment.
Please say a prayer to all our servicemen and women who are still protecting our country.

Army Wife Network

I am so thankful I came across their site. No I am not an Army Wife but I am a very PROUD ARMY MOM. Their site has really helped me get the information I have been looking for. Please check Army Wife Network out. They are amazing.

They have this information for us parents. Just because we are not married to a Military Individual doesnt mean we dont care about our children who are serving our country.

Being a Single Mother

You know you have done something right when you raise 4 boys on your own and they all turn out to be wonderful young Men. My oldest has custody of his daughter (not easy for Men to do), my next to the oldest is serving our country in the Army, my third son is graduating High School in June of this year with A's and 1 B and has already applied to college. My youngest who is almost 16 is disabled and he too is doing great. He has a job and is beyond proud of himself as I am of him.
So the next time someone wants to judge my parenting skills - Look what I accomplished on my OWN.
I have lived with(married 1) a couple of men who were very abusive, physically and mentally and those who would not be faithful. I do not need those kind of people in my life. One good thing that came out of my experiences was it made me a stronger person. My boys are still living with the abuse they too endured which has made them stronger Men, knowing how to treat a woman properly

Build A Sign Review

I recently had the opportunity to work with Melissa at BuildaSign.com. It did not take me long to decide what I wanted to design. Their site is very user friendly and their customer service support is absolutely amazing. From the time I designed my Custom Banner to the time it arrived was just about a week. Very fast shipping!

This sign hangs proudly in my front yard for my son who is currently in the Army. I have received so many compliments on my sign already.

Build A Sign also offers many other high quality products that you should definitely check out including license plates, flags, magnetics and others. They have some basic templates that are fully customizable or you can make up your own from scratch. Once again, the process is so easy that you can be done from start to finish in five minutes! You can even save your design and share it with others for their input before you order.

Valentine's Day

I received the most amazing gifts from my sons today. My oldest son got me this cute monkey:

And my next to the oldest who is in the Army got me these beautiful flowers.

Their cards made me cry. I hate having my 20 year old away from us but know he is doing something he loves and he is so proud to be serving his country. So many have questioned and belittled my parenting but you know I am a great Mom - shows with my sons. My oldest is an amazing father to his little girl- he has custody of her so that must say something about what I showed him as a mother and always putting your children first before any other. My next to the oldest is serving our country - that alone says alot and my 17 year old, who is graduating High School this year, is maintaining straight A's and will be graduating with Honors - beyond proud of him and my youngest who is disabled and who has had to tolerate so much mistreatment from men - he too is succeeding in life. They are where they are today because of this Mom who always put them in front of everyone else, loved them unconditionally, never judging. That is what being a true parent is all about.

So this has already been a wonderful Valentine's Day for this Mom.

Sitting and waiting for the news

It is never easy having your child leave and join the military but no matter what we have to support them. Well, yesterday I get a call from my son that while he was out in the field for training, shooting his machine gun, his ear protection fell out and he still has no hearing in his left ear. He reported it and will be monitoring him for another 48 hours to make sure there was no permanent damage. If course he didnt want to say anything to anyone because he was in fear he would get an immediate discharge from the military. My son has always, as long as I can remember, wanted to join the Army to honor his Grandfather. He plans on making this a career and for that I am beyond proud of him.
So now I just sit and wait and see what happens with his hearing.I pray that God watches over him and protects him at all times. The day is drawing closer to when they all leave to head to Afghanistan - just not sure how I will handle that.
Please say a prayer for each and every one of our Sons/Daughters/Husbands/Wives that are currently serving our country that they will all be safe from harm.

Off to do more training

I really hate it when our soldiers have to go out in the field for more training. I wont hear from my son for at least 3 weeks, which of course is going to be difficult. I guess this is one of "our" preparations for when they go to Afghanistan.
It has been a strange couple of days already not talking to my son first thing in the morning and the last one I say Good night to every night. At least I know he is safe and doing what he enjoys.
I am proud of not only my son but proud of each and every one of our children serving our country. God Bless them ALL.

Applied Labels Review

Labels™ are Applied Labels LLC's flagship and most popular product. They're extremely tough, ultra versatile and perfect for labeling:
*bottles
*sippy cups
*shoes
*school supplies
*gadgets
*summer camp gear
*all those little things that go to early childcare centers

I was so happy to get the chance to review these! When my granddaughter started going to Daycare we were concerned they would get her sippy cup mixed up with other childrens cups so these were perfect. They have the cutest fonts and images to choose from. Makes it more fun to personalize items with cuteness vs. the boring sharpie writing.

I've never been a huge label fan, mainly because I'm so incredibly disorganized! But these were fantastic. They were simple to use, sleek and shinny. After numerous times of washing her cups, they never lifted up or lost the coloring in the font! PERFECT!

If you have a baby, they offer Bottle Labels! Definitely helpful if you have more then one in the house or if your little one attends daycare. You can pick different color blank tape to wrap around the bottles, along with preprinted single use date tapes, and named tapes. The combination of all 3, allows for peace of mind ensuring that there won't be any mixups with other baby bottles.

Interested? Thought so! Take a wander on over to Applied Labels™. See how they can help you or your kids, even grandkids.

ARMY MOM'S PRAYER FOR HER SOLDIER SON

I Give To You, My Son
I held him as an infant; I hugged him as a boy
and through the years he has become my greatest pride and joy.

I love him more than I can say, his life more precious than my own,
but gone are the whims and notions of the little boy that I had known.

For the years have passed so quickly since the time it all began
and now he stands before me with the conviction of a man.

He wants to serve his country, he states aloud with pride
as I try to sort out the emotions that I'm feeling deep inside...

a union of the uncertain fear, which I cannot control
and the allegiance which lies deep within my patriotic soul.

I trust that my years of guidance will serve as a strong foundation
as he performs the duties requested from his beloved nation.

God please guide him as he travels to the places our soldiers have bled
and walk with him through pathways where those heroes' feet have tread.

Oh Sweet Land of Liberty, humbly I give to you, my son
praying you'll return him safely home when his work for you is done.

Proud of my Sons

I am so proud of all of my sons. My oldest has custody of his daughter and he takes amazing care of her. He is such a wonderful father, always puts her before any other. My granddaughter just loves her Daddy. I love it when they come to visit.
My next to the oldest is in the Army and is about to deploy to Afghanistan. Which of course has been rough on all of us. He has always wanted to go into the Military - just like his Great Grandfather and knows that he is watching over him. While he was in Basic a good friend of his past away and that has still been very hard for him to handle. He has been through so much and he is not yet 20. He tells me all the time that he got his strength and ambition from me and that I am a wonderful mother. That is so great to hear from your children since there are those days that you are so tough on them and think they will hate you for life - ha! BUT just the opposite with my children. They now see why I was so hard on them.
Their father was rarely in contact with them so that left me to take care of them - ON MY OWN! I dont need a man in my life to feel I am worth something. I have achieved so much and have not needed anyone to get me to where I am today.
My next to youngest son will be graduating High School this year with all A's & B's so you see why I am so proud of him as well. He will be going off to college in August so that will be tough having another child leave home but I know they will be successful no matter what they chose to do in life. I will always support my sons - never degrade them because that is not what a true parent does.
My youngest is a Freshman in High School so he will be with me for a few more years. He is already 5'9. It is so amazing how fast they all grow up.
I enjoy each and every day I get to spend with my children and now my Granddaughter. As much as I love spending time with her there is no way I would want children at my age - LOL. I love the fact that I wont be anywhere near 50 and all my children will be grown and on their own and then I can enjoy life to the fullest.
Wonder what my house will be like quiet LOL

Carribean Cruise

Starting to make final plans for our Carribean Cruise. This is going to be such an amazing vacation for all of us. It is the 7 day Western Carribean Cruise. We will be going to Grand Cayman, Belize, Cozumel and several other places. No better place to have a family reunion than on a Cruise Ship.

So excited

So I know this is going to be a great year. Not only did I win a new Dell Laptop but I have been offered a promotion with the company I am with. This will finally open up so many more opportunities for me. Financially I will be in the 6 figures and will be able to really look at purchasing a home again. This promotion will require me to travel a little more than I do now but come June I will only have 1 child remaining at home so I will be able to do more. It is so good to know that my financial "freedom" is right around the corner.
I did a lot of traveling in 2010 and know that I will be out of the road more in 2011. What ever it takes for me to provide a stable home for my family I will do it. I, like so many others, have struggled to make it, living paycheck to paycheck, so this is going to be so nice. I will be able to take my youngest son on many more vacations.
So - here is to a wonderful 2011 and I wish you all the best as well.

Purex® Complete Crystals Softener Review

There's a new laundry product out today, available at Walmart, that I think will change the way you do laundry. It's Purex Complete Crystals Softener. As a recently chosen Purex Insider, I was able to learn and try out the new Purex Complete Crystals Softener and share my thoughts on this product with you.

Purex Complete Crystals Softener is softener reinvented. Purex Complete Crystals Softener is exactly that: a laundry softener in crystal form. It looks like it could be designer laundry care. It comes in three amazing scents. Purex Complete Crystals Softener is available in three on-trend fragrances: FreshSpring Waters TM, Lavender Blossom TM, and Tropical Splash TM.

I got to try out the Fresh Spring Waters. When I opened the bottle, I loved how fresh and clean the scent was. What's even more amazing is how great my laundry smelled and there was no oily residue that usually comes with using oil-based dryer sheets.

WHAT IT IS: UNIQUE CRYSTAL FORM, 92% NATURAL FABRIC SOFTENER
Introducing Purex® Complete Crystals SoftenerTM*; a purer way to get laundry that smells clean and fresh for weeks. 92% natural, this product’s unique crystal form works differently than traditional oil-based softeners that coat fabrics with oily residue, because it infuses fibers with long-lasting fragrance. In addition, since you add it directly with your laundry, this means no more waiting for the rinse cycle, no messy residual gunk in your washing machine, and no more stains from spilling liquid fabric softener.

HOW IT WORKS: CRYSTALS DISSOLVE INFUSING FABRICS WITH FRESHNESS
Laundry scent lovers will perk up as freshness is infused into clothes with this new fabric softener. Over time, traditional oil-based softeners coat fibers causing harmful oily residue to accumulate. Purex Complete Crystals Softeners penetrate fabrics to reduce fiber entanglement and smooth frayed fibers providing a naturally soft feel.

HOW IT’S USED: ADDED WITH LAUNDRY AT THE START OF THE WASH CYCLE
Why struggle with plastic fabric softener balls, risk staining your clothes or waste time waiting for the rinse cycle? Simply add Purex Complete Crystals Softener directly with your laundry at the beginning of every wash cycle to infuse fabrics with long lasting freshness. I have the HE Washer and you do the exactly same thing. Do not put it in the dispenser just sprinkle on top of your laundry.

WHY IT’S DIFFERENT: SAFE FOR ALL LAUNDRY AND BETTER FOR FABRICS
Do ALL of your laundry—worry free! Purex Complete Crystals Softeners are safe for all laundry and will not harm, wear down or discolor your fabrics like oil-based softeners.
Safe for all fabrics, including baby clothes, athletic wear, towels, and whites. Unlike other softeners, Crystals WILL:
• Preserve the flame retardant benefits of your children’s clothes
• Retain your athletic wear’s wicking ability which draws sweat away from your body
• Maintain your towels’ built-in ability to absorb water
• Keep your white clothing from yellowing and graying vs. using traditional softeners
The product won’t harm your clothes and is safe and convenient for the entire family!
* Safe for use in both Standard and High Efficiency (HE) washers

I'm really loving Purex Complete Crystals Softener, and I think the next scent to try out will be Lavender Blossom.

Disclosure: This post was written as a member of Purex Insiders. As a Purex Insider, I help spread the word about Purex® family of laundry products. I receive sample products and incentives in exchange for participating in brand related activities. All opinions are my own and were not influenced by receiving a sample from Purex.

Here's to a Wonderful and Amazing New Year

As we bring in the new year I am preparing to see my son go back to his Duty Station. I have mixed feelings about him being in the Military especially when so many of our soldiers are still being deployed. My son loves being in the Army so I have to support him. I have always supported all of my sons in the decisions they make in life. Sometimes as a mother you may not like what they have chosen to do but you have to stand behind them no matter what. I am so proud of Greg and not a day goes by that I dont tell him that. He has turned out to be such an amazing son. When he got here to visit for the Holidays he immediately went and purchased himself a very nice truck. The look on his face when he was able to pay cash for his truck and get new tires was priceless. Of course the dealership tried to sway him into getting an expensive vehicle but he stuck to his decision of not wanting to get into payments and was paying cash. It may not be a brand new vehicle but the one he got is great. It is a 4x4 truck that will get him around since he is living in an area that gets lots of snow.
Tomorrow he leaves to head back and I know it will be tough on all of us. Not sure when he will be able to come back to visit but I am already planning my next trip out there to see him. I have never done so much traveling in my life ha! Road trips are so fun now.
Say a prayer to all of our sons/daughters/husbands/wives that are currently serving our country that our Heavenly Father will keep them all safe.
